Generally speaking I try to find at least 2 baits/lures that I know will catch the target fish and I try to have at least 2 good spots to cycle through. This is kinda how the game works as far as spawns are concerned, you can spawn random fish anywhere and catch common fish all over a waterway but if you find a good spot for trophys it will only ever spawn a few at a time.so catching 4-5 fish at one location in a 10 minute time period is about normal, then you move to another spot, after 10 minutes or so the spawn timer resets and you move back to the first spot, if you fish the same spot and don't move you will have periods of no bites while this timer is running down.now I can't say for sure that this is the way it actually works but I have discussed this with others and it really does seem to be true.Įven if my rundown is not spot on any of the old pros around here will tell you moving around will increase your bite rates.
